Welcome to the forums. Why don't you post the above-mentioned poems here? I should think some people would like to comment on them.

The Noble Nature

Ben Jonson (1573–1637)

IT is not growing like a tree
In bulk, doth make Man better be;
Or standing long an oak, three hundred year,
To fall a log at last, dry, bald, and sere:

A lily of a day 5
Is fairer far in May,
Although it fall and die that night—
It was the plant and flower of Light
In small proportions we just beauties see;
And in short measures life may perfect be.

Hello Guest

Do you need help with the Ben Jonson poem above, or with Wordsworth's
Lines Written in Early Spring?

It's not quite clear from your text.

Hello Indian123, I could help you with this poem in gist....(The noble Nature by Ben jonson)

The poem tells us about the usefulness of our Life. It is not how long you live that matters but how well you lived.However short your life is, it is how well you utilised it and how much of your life was helpful to others that really counts.It says that count your age by deeds not years.

I just gave my English exam, and we got a question i'm not very sure how to answer. It is - "How can life be made perfect?"

I answered that life can be made perfect by measuring it in terms of the good and beautiful things in it, rather than how long life is.

Could someone please comment on and supplement the answer?
