Hi,

I need help in writing a sponsorship letter for a church.  Someone that I know is starting their own church ministry and needs help with funds/donations.  It was asked that I write a sponsorship letter to pass on to the friends and family of the individual as well as local churches in the area.  If anyone could help, it would be greatly appreciated.  I thank you and God bless!

My name is (Pastor's name) and I am the pastor of (name of church).  God has taking my ministry to another level.  I have been in the ministry for 25 years and have sat under the leadership of my father.  My mission is to spread the word of God  and to win souls for Christ.

I am currently seeking financial sponsors to help with the beginning stage of this ministry.  Your financial support will go toward the building of God's Kingdom.  This ministry will also assist and serve the surrounding communities.

Please feel free to contact me at ( ) if you need more information.  Your generous contribution will be a blessing to the ministry and in return you shall also be blessed.  Thank you in advance for your consideration and support.

I'm not sure of how the system works in the US but over here most churches (the respectable ones anyway) are registered charities. If this is the case with your friend's church, they should give details of this to reassure the potential sponsors that they are genuine, and also some people get tax advantages for donating to charities.

  DEAR BRETHEN,

WE HAVE BEEN MEMBER SINCE 1959.  I NOVEMBER WE'LL BE MARRIED 50 YEARS.  THIS IS THE FIRST TIME WE ARE HAVING TO ASK FOR HELP.  WE BOTH ARE ON SOCIAL SECURITY AND TRYING TO RAISE OUR GRANDSON, WHO IS IN HIS SENIOR YEAR OF HIGH SCHOOL.

WE HAVE ALREADY HAD TO FILE BANKRUPTCY, THAT KILLED US IN HAVING TO DO THAT.  MY HUSHAND RETIREMENT RAN OUT, WITH ALL MEDICAL BILLS AND ETC.

WE DON'T KNOW WHO TO TURN TO.  OUR MINISTER SAID FOR US TO WRITE A LETTER AND SEND OUT TO ALL THE CHURCH OF CHRIST, SEE IF THEY CAN SEND US SOME DONATIONS.

WE CAN'T AFFORD TO LOSE OUR HOME AND OUR CAR.  I'AM HANDICAPPED.  WE LIVE FOR THE LAST 9 1/2 YEARS IN LA FERIA, TX.  WE'RE VERY ACTIVE IN THE SMALL CHURCH.
