Dear Teachers,

1. She used to cry when I'd come home late, she couldn't buy the lies I told.

- What does "she couldn't buy the lies I told" mean here?

2. All she wanted was to be needed, someone that she could call her own.

- "she could call her own" here means "call her own boyfriend or her own husband", right?

Yes, but more than that, she wanted someone who was her own.
