1. Here am I. Send me.

2. Here I am. Send me.

What's the difference between them?

#2 is the correct choice.

You would order the words as you did in #1 only if you are asking a question.

Where am I? (If you are lost you might ask this question)

Here am I? (Doesn't make sense)

To err is human, to forgive divine. 잘못을 저지르는 것은 인간이지만 용서할수있는 것은 하늘과 같은것.

Hi,

Here am I. Send me.

As shown by the quotes from the Bible, Here am I is a bit archaic, a bit poetical.

It seems to me to add some stress to the I. It's still occasionally used.

eg I might say something like - Everybody's doing something interesting. Tom is on a trip to Africa, Fred is in China learning Chinese, Jim is at the Olympic Games, and here am I, just working in the local supermarket.

Best wishes, Clive

In the New International Version of the Holy Bile, 5 results were found for "Here am I" and 20 results were found for "Here I am."

No results were found for "I am here"

In Hebrew, the verb "to be" is generally omitted in the present tense.  "Here I am" and "here am I" are various renditions of a single word in Hebrew ("heneini"), probably according to the translator's whim.

Hi,

What's the differecne between Here I am and I am here? Very little. With this kind of very short sentence, a great deal depends on the way you say it, and the context in which you say it.

Best wishes, Clive
