Do 'high ceiling' and 'vaulted ceiling' mean the same?

No.  A high ceiling is merely out of reach; a vaulted ceiling is: an elongated half-cylinder shaped arched ceiling, i.e. a roof or ceiling shaped as an arch.

Hi Meantolearn,

I was googling for the words vaulted ceiling and here is a link which shows what a vaulted ceiling actually looks like.

It would give a very good idea of what a vauled ceiling is.

The other link given below is a good example of high ceiling. Well ... i think high ceiling is pretty generic a term and

the below figure gives only one example of the same.
