Hello!

What is the meaning of ''lurched'' here. Is it closer to his stomach rose like he was going to throw up? or ''his stomach rolled upside down because he was shocked or disgusted''?

Thank you

Hi,

The latter, I think. His stomach made a sudden, convulsive 'jump', just for a second or two. It could be for many reasons.

The latter, for sure.

And the sudden digust could be a result of stepping in a puddle of rancid vomit or finding out something that would scare him, ruin his life, etc.

Hi,

Or he could be 5 years old, and his Mom caught him with his hand in the cookie jar.

Best wishes, Clive
