I'll first try to re-post two of the pictures I have already posted, only larger this time. If I do OK, I'll post new photos as well.

Great! I was hoping I'd be able to enlarge the pictures to the full width of the screen but that seems impossible. Never mind, we'll just have to be content with what we have. GG, the next pictures are especially for you. They represent what is unarguably one of the most beautiful little towns in the world, Mogan in the south-west of Gran Canaria.

It's working, but it's not working properly. It's very difficult and time-consuming to upload more than one picture. Usually the picture editor doesn't do that even though it urges you to keep adding pictures. It notifies you that so far you have uploaded only one picture even though you have added, say, three. I sometimes succeeded in adding pictures after I went to Preview and came back to Compose. Trying to delete the (incorrect) name of the previous file in the picture editor window may also have helped. (I only managed to highlight it, it wouldn't go away.)

Right now, I have other things to do, but I'll post more pictures when the problem has been fixed.

Cheers

Wow, amazing pictures. I hope I will be able to see them before they are destroyed because of the global warming.

Canoeing under the bridges

A Mogan street

A small fountain amid flowers

A local celebrity who died in 1974 is remembered in this statue

A Mogan canal, flowers everywhere

A street where cars don't go at all

Another street

A coffee bar for a leisurely drink on a hot afternoon

Another beautiful street

A playground for children with some shops behind it

A Mogan park

A Mogan car park surrounded by flowers

Part of the marina and harbour. Boats for other destinations depart from next to the highest building

Everything seemed to work just fine so far. If that turns out to be true in practice as well, I'll post some pictures from other parts of the island.

Very good. Hitch managed to fix the picture editor! It works just fine now.

Many of the hotels bear Caribbean or Latin American names. There's a tourist resort called Puerto Rico where there are such hotels as the Haiti, the Maracaibo and the Miami. More hotels are being built although it is obvious that at the moment the hotals are not at all full. There are too many of them as it is, and there are too many bars and restaurants as well. About 25 years ago the Canary Islands were more or less the only winter holiday destination for Europeans but these days people take trips outside Europe too. Islas Canarias have lost their monopoly. People go to Thailand, the United Arab Emirates, Brazil, India, Egypt, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Florida, Hawaii, South Africa etc.

The Maspalomas lake

I have never asked anyone but the water in the lake cannot possibly be fresh water because there are 320 sunny days every year in Maspalomas in the south of Gran Canaria. The sea is about 100 metres from the lake and I think the water comes from it.

A hotel swimming pool in Melonas, close to Maspalomas

The famous Playa del inglés sand dunes

The sand has been carried by the winds from the Sahara over millions of years  -  and it keeps coming. During my stay there was what people called a sand storm. There were microscopic grains of sand in the air for two or three days and many people complained it made their throats sore and hurt their eyes. The sky was all grey despite being cloudless, grey with sand.

Parque Santa Catalina, Las Palmas

This park is very centrally located for tourists and shopping in Las Palmas. In the 1970s it was teeming with tourists but these days there are more locals than foreigners having a drink in its bars. Tourists have been relocated to the south, which is sunnier and warmer. There are only 140 sunny days a year in Las Palmas.

Even though there are no Americans, there is something American.

Puerto Rico's biggest and oldest shopping centre

Start your climb up to the hill here. There are 700 steps.

I have now posted all the pictures (plus a couple more) that I intended to upload. I hope you have enjoyed watching them.

Cheers
