I could tell that my friend was excited by the looks of her face. Natalie was going in for the talent contest, American Idol, which was a famous worlwide TV competition.She was always lack of confidence as she had no idea she would be the Top 10 contestants. After all, she was talented and skilled in singing.

           Hoping for perfoming well on stage, she practiced assiduously, so that she could get better and better all the time. As a friend of hers, I showed my encouragement and supported her. It was true to say that a friend inneed is a friend indeed. Once in a while, she got frustrated that she was unable to sing a high tune. She even thought about giving up. In order to keep her chin up, I imitated the way of Paula Abdul speaks,the funniest crictic in the competition.

           As every episode began broadcasting, Natalie's family and I were with her all the way. The game became challenging gradually. Taking part in the competition, Natalie met new friends.She had to struggle with her friends as competitors for final. It was tough for her to compete with her friends as if might break their friendship.In spite of everything, Natalie had her heart set on being the winner. Little by little, as the Top 6 contestant, Natalie was too confident to convince herself that she stood a chance to be the winner.

          However, American Idol Finale was just around the corner. To follow the rules of the game, contestants were divided into 2 group. It was quite unfair that both of the groups were designed to perform different kind of music, 'rock and roll' and 'country music'.Unexpectedly, Natalie and her members were going to have Rock n' Roll performance. How unfortunate she was.Natalie was definitely not interested in Rock n' Roll music at all. It let her down. Even so, she accepted it, trying her best as if she might make a miracle.

           It was the day of American Idol Finale. The final show was broadcast live. There was a thousand people who could not wait for the show to start. It would not be surprised that every contestant had butterflies in their stomach.Even though Natalie had been practicing for a week, by the day of the final competition she was feeling uneasy. Again, I encouraged her and had intention of regaining her composure.

           After the 'country music's perfomance,it was time for Natalie to perform rock and roll music with her two members. I was taken aback by her well done performance.Her performance impressed a thousand people, even every critic paid her a complimetn.As the hostess was about to annouced the winner,everyone was on the edge of their seat. Natalie did make a miracle. She was announced to be the 2009 American Idol and awarded ten thousand dollars. Natalie's parents and I enthusiastically ran up on stage to congratulate her by offering a deep hug.

          It was so wonderful. I was proud of Natalie. To pursue her dream, she dare to take challenges. I believed that I would proud of my achievement someday. I would make a miracle, too.
