Hey fellas

I have a question. I'm preparing for my english grammar exam and there's a question that keeps annoying me in one of the older exam papers.

1. Comment on the use of the present tense in the sentences below

a)Peter lives in a somewhat run-down area close to Islington.

What would i comment exactly? I know what present tense is, but i don't know what to write. Can anybody help?

Hi,
Consider a couple of simpler examples, eg
Mary lives in London.
Mary is living in London.
Can you see any difference in meaning? What is it?

Best wishes, Clive
