How long will the concert last?

How long will the concert perform?

How soon will the concert come to an end?

Do all of the above sound right and convey a similar idea? Thanks.

The second sentence seems awkward to my ear. The third is correct. The first is the one I would commonly use. It is short and to the point.

The 2nd is strange.

Another alternative (more informal):

>How long will the concert take?
(esp with a note of impatience)

The first can be said at any time. The third sounds like you're saying it as the concert is in progress. (And, as others have stated, the second one is just not right. How long will the soloist perform?)

A quick question. What does it sound to your ear if I say, "How long is the concert going to last?"

That's fine.
