1.How much of a role does technology play in this very fierce, very competitive environment? (original)

2.How much role does technology play in this very fierce, very competitive environment?

3.To what extent, does technology play a role in this very fierce, very competitive environment?

4.Does technology play much of a role  in this  environment?

5. Does technology play much of a big role in this environment?

#2,#3 , #4 and #5 above are the sentences in question, like this:

Regardless of the improper grammar of #2, what is the difference between the original sentence and #2 in meaning.  Is the #3 correct? (and the placement of the comma.) And also are the #4 and #5 correct?

Hi

2. Is now meaningless. 'How much role does...' makes no sense. 'What role' would be possible.

3.This is ok but you need to take out the first comma.

4. ok

5.'Much of a big' is not correct. When you are asking 'does it play much' you are asking about the size of the role. You can't then team it up with big. 'Does it play much' or 'Does it play a big' would be correct.
