Hi guys

I couldn't find it in the dictionary for pronounciation, so here it is. It's the name of a company

Sanofi-Aventis

Thanks

I'm sure everyone has words that they have never heard or seen before. So is there a rule to follow to pronounce new words?

Thanks

No.  No rules, especially not with names.  We just have to wait until the person pronounces his own name, or someone else who knows the pronunciation tells us how to pronounce it.  Sad [:(]

I would say it [ se@nofi AvæntIs ] .  In rapid speech: [ s@nofi @væntIs ] .  I have no idea how it's supposed to be pronounced.

It's pronounced SA-no-fi  (short "A" as in bat)
