From my experience, you have to correct your pronunciation first, then you learn stress, rhythm and intonation. I did this way. It is because you have to have the confidence to pronounce words clearly and slowly, then you can speed up and emphasize on the words you want to stress.

Come to my website www.PronunciationPatterns.com/FAQ.html to see if I answer your other questions on pronunciation.

I'm absolutely sure, that the accent is what gives you and individuality. and Im sure as well that having and accent is much better than having grammar mistakes Smile [:)] we Latvians say that there's "a person with a raisin"  smth different, smth interesting, amazing or individual Smile [:)]

You have a Canadian Accent, very neutral and soft. I wouldn't even know it was canadian had i just not spent some time with people from Manitoba

well the problem is most people find european accents charming. however, asian accents on the other hand are often ridiculed.

This is true. And the funny head movements and gestures.

But, anyways, my problem is, I really can't understand, say, Ozzy or Welsh people. Is it just me or is there something else too?

Don't worry; I'm English and I can't understand them!

i dont want to seem rude or anything like that. But all i wanna know is how to get rid of my strong hatian acccent.

LISTEN very carefully to the way people pronounce their words. In particular, listen to the intonation.
Record a TV program then record yourself speaking the same sentences. Listen to the differences.

Sorry for my grammar I learn english by my self with no scooling

Granted, but why can't you copy words like "school" and "language"?

How are these 2 books, American accent training and american accent guide? will they help us to reduce our accent?

Speak English with an accent may be interesting in home or meeting with friends, but it is going be a big killer for career in some fields. I was seldom asked to repeat, but the clients did complain that they needed more effort to understand my spoken Engish than native speakers'.

So, I am looking for some sugguestions in reducing accent and get people easy to understand me.

ok.listen.i have an accent.and for this reason i tend to be more shy than i'd be with out an accent. i'm really outgoing but my accent makes me feel self concious. and specially when i have to read infront of a large group of ppl.i can get nervous or embarrased easily for this very same reason. that is how having an accent affects my life.i sometimes think, specially when i meet a new friend or so, that they get tired of me,or annoyed. so then i stop talking. but then i get frustrated because i can't say what i want to say coz ,well u uget my point right?

i'm so afraid to speak in public, or on the phone if i'm talking to a hot guy.i get all embarrased and stuff. i just don't talk as much as i'd want to. and i love making new friends, but i don't want them to be turned off by me.kkkkkk
