The resume 'format' differs in different countries and also industries. You might want to give us more information on that.

Dear Chaobo,
To start with first you have to go trough the advert for a job position you want to apply for. Than pick up their key requirements and see if you can meet them. If you think that you can apply, then you are able to start preparing yourself to write a Resume.
I will give you a couple of basic advices. First you need to know that the purpose of your Resume is not to get you a job; it is there to get you an interview with a hiring manager.
When a hiring manager takes your Resume and starts reading it, you have 15-20 second to attract his/her attention. So, the most important part of any Resume is Objective or Summary Heading. In order to achieve that try to write the most interesting and persuasive facts about you. Writing an excellent opening statement of this kind is gathering experience and skills into phrases that demonstrate your qualifications for the new job position.
After that try to list all your relevant past experience making “Employment” heading in chronological order, starting from the recent one. When I mentioned relevant it means to concentrate on bringing benefit to the employer throughout concise, results-oriented and measurable statements.
Then list all relevant education in brief with the name of your college/school, city where is the college/school, year of your graduation, degree and field of study.
If you can try to indicate as well some awards, publications, community/voluntary service, special achievements, certifications or anything else that is relevant to the job position you are applying for.
A couple of advises at the end:
- Be clear in your vocabulary,
- Be optimistic showing incentive,
- Avoid grammar errors and low quality paper,
- When you are printing your Resume, always use the best quality paper. It can be from 50gsm up to 100gsm. Do not use glossy paper! Use only mat paper. Keep your printed version away from damages.

Hi,
I'd like briefly to add a couple more comments, based on my experience on how to make a resume in Canada.
1. Don't make your Objective section too long. The examples I see have typically just one or two lines.
2. Generally speaking, you have your choice of creating two different kinds of resume. One is focussed on your Employment section, with a chronology of your various jobs. The other places a Skills Profile section after the Objective section and before any Employment section.
This skills-based format is particularly suitable if you have had little or no previous employment, or if you are trying to make a big change in your field of employment. For example, perhaps you are an engineeer but you are applying for a job as an office manager. There is no point in giving great detail about your engineering experience. Instead, you need to identify and focus on the skills that you can transfer from your old field to your new field of employment.
Best wishes, Clive
