How would you pronounce the word Sputnik?
Does the first syllable rhyme with for example put or cut?

Is there a difference between American English and British English?

When I say Sputnik, the first syllable rhymes with cut, but, nut, rut.

Hello Anon

I had already posted words that would rhyme with the first syllable in American English. Wink

Are you British?  Do any of the words I posted NOT rhyme with 'cut' in BE?
