Hi,

It's an unusual name no matter how you pronounce it.

Why don't you just say 'My address is 93 Windle Road, w -i- n-d-l-e'?

ie spell it before they ask you to spell it.

Use www.m-w.com.  Click on the audio icon to hear pronunciations.

'Windle' rhymes with 'kindle'.

So use that website to hear 'kindle' and 'road'.  That should help.

The reason that people ask you to repeat it and spell it is because they are not sure whether it is spelt with -le or -el. Also, if the person that you are speaking to is pin-pen merged, they also wouldn't know whether to spell it with wen- or win-.
