Hello,

1. Once a boy kicked a pot. The boy was not hurt but the pot broke.

Is "hurt" here an adjective?

"the pot broke" , here I am a bit confused.

Does the pot perform the action of breaking?

I compare it as  given below.

2. I broke the pot.

Here in (2) , the action of breaking is done by the subject "I". It is very simle to understand.

Bur at the same time "the pot broke", I could not understand the as the subject is itself a pot and how can a pot do the action.

not hurt = not damaged
hurt is the past participle of to hurt.

I broke the pot.  The agent is I.  The agent performed the action of causing the pot to become broken.
The pot broke.  No agent is mentioned.  Nothing is mentioned that caused the pot to become broken.  But the pot became broken (somehow).

Compare:

They rang the bell.
The bell rang.

She tore the dress.
The dress tore.

Hello (Sir, CJ)

Thanks for valuable thoughts.

One more question.

1. The park opens in the morning , after sun rises.

Here once again  the same problem. As per my interpretation , it means somebosy opens the park in the morning.

Is my interpretation correct?

Yes.  Somebody opens the park.
