I sneak into the eyes
Of the damsel in distress
Looking at the man
Who saved her

I peek into the house
Of the girl next door
Who has met a man
On her way home

I stand with the man
Who adorably writes
Love songs for the girl
That reigns his heart

I comfort the man
With a broken heart
Which his girl threw away
With me in it

I am there everywhere

Do you want me
In your heart today?

Hello Anita!

I think you would have to say: 'reigns in his heart'.

I wasn't sure about the last 4 lines. Do the tone and rhythm change too much, I wonder? What do you think?

It seems the kind of poem that could take a simple refrain, e.g.

I peek into the house
Of the girl next door
Who has met a man
On her way home
I am Love
