Hi,
All I can do is correct the English.
Dear Sir of Madam,
The purpose of this letter is to explain why I had so many failures in my Undergraduate course, for Bachelor of Technology (in Information Technology).
One of the main reasons is that I never studied computer science in my life until I entered my college. Until then, I had studied biology. I always aspired to become a doctor, but circumstances changed and then I shifted my mind to Information Technology.
Since that was the first time I started learning the basics of computers and rogramming languages, and also because I could not forget my earlier aspirations, I had to struggle a lot during my first three semesters. I was not able to perform well in my regular cycle tests and model exams, which were the main contributors for my Internal marks (out of hundred 30 marks for Internals). Indeed, this resulted in 10 arrears until my third semester. Because of low internals, I was unable to pass those papers in my second attempt either, which resulted in another 6 failures in my academic history. Overal, I had 16 arrears up to my third semester.
The teacher who handled one of the subject s in my third semester also handled another subject in my fourth semester, Visual Programming. Due to my past performance, the impression that teacher had of me was not good. In turn, this resulted in a bad internal mark for the subject of Visual Programming, and that was the toughest paper in my Engineering course. I didn’t use a proper reference book for that subject, which resulted in a failing grade. Due to my low internals, I was not able to clear it in my second attemptm either. This in turn contributed another 2 failing grades to my academic profile.
I would like to bring it to your notice that I am a student who should have got just four arrears, which I received in the last four semesters, if I had taken computer science in my school days. Without myambition of becoming a doctor, I would not have received those 18 failing grades up to my fourth semester, which is inclusive of the number of attempts taken.
From my fourth semester, I started focusing on my studies and became an Information Technology aspirant. I became so involved in the studies that I gained bought this interest to pursue my Master's in the same field. After working on two projects as a part of my curriculum, the thirst for Information Technology grew more.
After completing my course full of interest and enthusiasm, I found that my school studies were tougher than my college studies. Usually the education cycle in India is that a person who gets 60% percentage in his year 12 will definitely maintain above 75% in his college period. In India's schools, people have a lot to study. And being a student who got 85% in my school days, I should have received at least 85% in my college studies, which unfortunately I was unable to get because of the reasons I have mentioned above.
I will guarantee now that I will not have any reasons like the above to give in future, if you offer me admittance to your University. II also assure you that I will get A + or 90+ marks in my postgraduate courses if you provide me an opportunity to prove myself in my field of Information technology, because I am involved a lot in Information Technology now and I am so confident that I will be a successful IT professional in my career.
Please encourage me to achieve my goal, since I have already been dejected about my old ambition and I would not be able to take another failure. I hope to achieve my goal in RMIT University. I am requesting you to help me in achieving my goal.
Thanking you.
Yours sincerely
Raja
Good luck.
Clive
