In a few days time I am going to give an English lesson to adult beginners.

Perhaps you should just start with short greetings and simple responses.
Like; 'Hello' 'do you speak English?' 'Where are you from?' 'What is your name?' ' My name is ---, 'Goodbye'.
I am interested to know where you are Tracy, where did you learn English ?

Words don't have meanings, meanings have words.

thanks for you sugestion!
but i am wondering how to make these teaching content seem to be interesting.
i have 15-20mins to show my teaching.
it's the first time for me to teach adults, so ...
i am in China!
what about you?

I'm in Perth, Western Australia.
I was in China last year and taught a few night classes to young adults.
What we did the first night was;
1) teach the words and short questions and answers. Teach pronounciation and meaning, we taught culture as well. (For example it is a standard greeting to ask someone how they are in Australia. We do not expect a detailed honest answer, just a simple polite response).
2) We then got the students in two lines facing each other and got them to practice the simple greetings and responses. We had the words written on the black board like a script for a mini play so the students could read it if unsure. (Most of our students were better at reading English then speaking it.)
3) We did this role playing at the beginning of every class. By the end of the week the students could do this well enough to speak briefly to English speaking foreigners. LOL, ok, probably only if the foreigners gave the right response.
This will take more than 15 - 20 mins unless you keep it to only a few words.
This worked very well for us, we had less than 20 students though.
Hope this helps.

thank you very much, Perth.
your advice gave me great help!
in fact, i am applying for a part-time job in a English Teaching agency.
the manager asked me to show how i will give this kind of class to adults which will be my interview.
they are beginers, but i do not need to choose the first lesson.
i am thinking of how to show the best one and get this job.
