there are so many threads about Islam and Muslims,that i think the whole religions things should be under one topic like "topic of the moment" or "photos" etc.so everyone who want info over one religious can go to the relevant page,in this case tread about "Islam"

Hi Reham, welcome to Englishforums!

Well, let's say I feel I know nothing at all about Islam. I think the only few things I know are wrong. I believe very few people around here know something about Islam for real, and I think it's because of our mass-media... you know, many people get wrong or biased information because of the media.
So, what would you say about Islam?

I suppose I should read the Koran to form myself a proper idea, though one of the points that shock me the most, used to living in "the western world", is the treatment given to women, I think that is one of the factors that contribute to my negative opinion about this religion.

I mean, I don't see why women should wear on all that paraphernalia (burqa, chador,..), it's quite lamentable, if you ask me. Imagine that men had to wear all that robe on, would you agree?

I agree with Koyeen that most people dont know alot about Islam. Few know something but it is usually unclear or even wrong ideas. The reason might be the media, but more importnatly is the laziness of Muslims to show the real face of their religion. Some Muslims are too enthusiastice to teach others about Islam that they scare people away.

I think if Muslims fully obey their religion, and use it as a way of life they wouldn't have to say alot about it their actions would talk louder than their voices.

Unfortunately, there are a minority who are "Muslims" by name, and they dont live their lives according to Islam. Still if they practice some evil actions Islam would be accused, just because they were born Muslims.

I think I have started to sail away from the main subject

I don't know too why women should get naked on a play boy magazenes in order to earn money ?

I would have more respect for the women who choose to wear brqua.

what you don't know that women choose this cuz in jordan palestine egypt sudan etc the majority of women do were hijab cuz they choose to wear it not because of a law in their country so yep women do choose to wear it
