There are many IELTS books. I chose A book for IELTS (Sam McCater). It is quite more difficult than the real test but I think it is good for you to prepare for IELTS exam. I also used some others and passed IELTS exam with 6.5 for overall. It's not a very high mark but it's enough for me. And the best way to have a high score, in my opinion, is "practise as much as possible". Do not care much about which book you use, let's care how many exercises in this book.
I suggest some other books I used. Hope they'll be useful for you! Wink [;)]
101 hints for IELTS
202 exercises
Cambridge IELTS (1, 2, 3)
IELTS plus
If you want to ask me about more experience or strategies, plz mail me: babytammybaby@yahoo.com
I'm pleasure to help you!
Good luck on your test! Wink [;)]

tell about IELTS exame and eligibility to give it

It's an international exam to test 4 English skills (reading, writng, speaking and listening). IELTS is NOT for people under 16. You will do listening test (4 parts) in 30 mins, reading (3 passages) in 60 mins, writing (with 2 tasks) in 60 mins and speaking (with 3 parts) in 15 mins with an examiner. After sitting IELTS about 5 - 7 days, you will get a result, which shows your English ability. You can find sample of IELTS in any IELTS books, easily found in any book-shop or library. OK?

I hope the information is useful for you! I sit an IELTS exam already, so if you have any questions, contact me! Cheer,

TammyBaby
