What is the difference between these ones? "If" vs "when" ?

1. You would use this bank card when you are buying things.

2. You would use this bank card if  you are buying things.

Thanks.

Dear Jack112,

There is no difference. It is better to say «You would use this bank card if you were buying things».

Kind regards, Smile [:)]
