When Robby came of age, his parents gave him more freedom along with more responsibility around the house.

Hi,

In our language, we'd use "in the house" instead, so I wonder if it's interchangeable with "around the house." If not, what are the differences between them? Thanks.

Around the house = in the household.
In the house suggests the physical structure only.

Thanks, Mister.

To make sure, does "around the house" also refer to "in the family/household?" Thanks.
