Hi

The Rolling Stones would be on a TV show in between Engelbert Humperdinck and a magic act.

--- Does it mean that first there was Engelbert, then The Rolling Stones and then the magic act? so who was the main attraction?

BTW: is there any other way to say: magic act?

Yes, that's the meaning.  Main attraction is a difficult idea.  TV shows don't want the main attraction first, or the audience will tune out right after that, and they can't be last or they could get bumped...so maybe the Stones were the main attraction.
