Hello everybody,

what does "in the common" mean ?
The swimming pool on the common is open all the year round.

Does it mean that the possession of the swimming pool is shared by several people or is "in the common" equal to an adverb like "in general" ?
Thank you in advance for any help. :-)

It says 'on' the common, not 'in'.

It's referring to the location of the pool. It is on the common (a type of publicly owned ground).
