I was at Barcelona in the summer of 2008.
I was at Barcelona in the summer in 2008.

Thanks,

Yes, but 'of 2008' has style and the close repetition of 'in' does not.

We usually say 'in a city', not 'at a city'.

Best wishes, Clive
