Sir

this is a paragraph from a internet -----

To sneeze, to smash, to cry, to shriek, to jump, to dunk, to read, to eat, to slurp--

all of these are infinitives.

An infinitive will almost always begin with to followed by the simple form of the verb.

Important Note: Because an infinitive is not a verb, you cannot add -s, -es, -ed, or -ing to the end. Ever!

Sir , "Because an infinitive is not a verb" , do you agree that infinitive is not a verb.

Thanks.

I consider it a verb form, but it is not a finite verb. This excerpt is confusing non-finite and base form.

'The question is,' said Humpty Dumpty, 'which is to be master-- that's all.'
