Hello:

I am trying to place the ... HTML tags around some links, and I am getting garbage in the post in some instances.

Say, let's take this thread:

where can we use "could have V IIIrd form" ?
http://www.englishforums.com/English/CouldIiirdForm/cxgmp/Post.htm

I am trying to place the ... HTML tags around:
http://tinyurl.com/pthqw
while editing the post.

The resulting post shows some garbage as a result:

Conditionals
http://tinyurl.com/pthqw" target="_blank"
title="http://tinyurl.com/pthqw">http://tinyurl.com/pthqw

It doesn't happen all the time, i.e. it's an intermitent problem. As you can see, I was able to post some correct links in there.

Thanks.

Try checking the HTML with an HTML editor.

Cheers

Thanks. I'm not sure I have an HTML button in Mozilla/Linux.

Anyway, funny thing. I think I've found the reason.

It seems your software wants the slash at the end of the link:

http://tinyurl.com/pthqw/

and doesn't like its absence. Not all the time though.
