My father used to say "Consider the source." That is, if someone you know to be rude and ill-mannered says something rude and ill-mannered, rather than being offense or thinking it has something to do with you, just realize that it's how that person is.

Hey, wait a second... I am rude! Maybe you guys didn't know it for sure, but now that you know, can I fill my post with swear words? I am supposed to talk like Eric Cartman. It should be ok then, you'll just have to realize and accept it's the way I am, LOL. Right?

Why not? That means you don't accept the way I am... Crying [:'(] I mean, I wouldn't offend you if you know it's just the way I behave normally. Hmmm, on second thought, I think people should know me too well before they start to understand me and accept the way I behave. So I think I'll keep trying to look like an "acceptably rude guy" from an "acceptably rude" TV series. So, not really Eric Cartman, LOL!

But you should realize that banning rude members is the way mods behave usually. So it shouldn't offend you. Why wouldn't you accept us as we are? Wink [;)]

Hmmm, you are right... That leads to an important conclusion: you can't always accept the others as they are, and the others can't always accept you as you are. So what should we do? Maybe the answer is "we should mind our own business", LOL. There's still a problem... what if someone doesn't mind their own business? Hmmm... whatever, I'm going to mind my own business for a while, see you Lana. Smile [:)]

I think we should mind what business the others have to face in such a situation. Whether we don't interfere in the questions of the others.
Still what can be good for a rude person is nearly always bad for gentle one. While reacting to the post the first thing to mind is the person who we address to. And supposedly we have to address all the people as good ones.
