Hi dear friends of languages,

I have a funny problem. If a man has a mustache (Schnurrbart in German), can I also call it more generally beard (Bart)?

Thanks   for your help                             Mowgli

Hi Mowgli.

A moustache (note spelling) is the hair which grows between a man's top lip and his nose.

A beard grows beneath his lower lip, covering all or part of his chin and cheeks.

'The question is,' said Humpty Dumpty, 'which is to be master-- that's all.'

Hello, Mowgli!

From the illustrations of Google, I'd say "Schnurrbart" definitely is a m(o)ustache.

I'm glad to help, but I'm not a native! And please excuse my typos...
