Hi,
Breakfast is served in the dining hall. Today it (is served, is being served, is going to be served, will be served) in the conference room.
Can I interpret "is going to be served" and "is served" as expressions that are not used or sound odd? Thank you very much.
is going to be served If I read a notice in the hotel with this tense, it would sound a little unusual. I think it's because of the 'here is our plan' aspect of the tense. It would also sound a little temporary to me, eg The dining room is closed for painting so breakfast is going to be served in the TV room. 'Will be served' presents it more as a simple fact than a plan.
is served This would not be unusual, and is sometimes used. The meaning is that 'every day' this is where breakfast is served.
Best wishes, Clive
