Hi everybody !!
I have a doubt. I work with tax and some times I want to explain that I must calculate tax for someone. But I have seen some expression as "calculate tax on someone".
I want to say that I have to calculate tax on behalf of someone. Should I say "calculate tax for Mr. Smith" or "calculate tax on Mr. Smith" ?
Thanks in advance.
Best Regards

Hi,
You should say 'calculate tax for Mr. Smith'.
If you buy a TV, the salesman will calculate tax ON the TV.
Best wishes,
