What about this?

- This is the man that I can trust.

I would go with "This is the man whom I can trust."

You are right and wrong.Smile [:)] There is no agreement. Most grammarians think whom is to be preferred in formal style. The truth is that who has been used by distinguished writers for as long as who/whom/whose have been used as relative pronouns.
