Hi All,

Is the following sentence correct?

"If I understand correctly, we have to delete this file."

Thanks,

SRI

Hi,

My English is not very good but since nobody has posted any reply, I would like to try.

Firstly, can you explain what does 'understand correctly' mean in your sentence?

Assuming that 'understand correctly' means 'remember correctly', I think the conditional clause in the front part of the sentence has a object missing.

Should it be " If I remember this correctly, we have to delete this file." ?

I am not a native speaker, if i make a mistake here, please forgive me.

^.^ cheers.
