I'd say this is taking a very pessimistic view of the things.

It means that you don't feel well in that place, or, worse, that others think that you shouldn't be in that place.

How about "I'm not local"?

Hi,

the doctor had alot of advice for jacob so he could get on his illness

I think perhaps you mean this.

The doctor had a lot of advice to help Jacob deal with his illness.

Note that an English sentence is not correct without appropriate capitals and punctuation.

Do you actually have a question, Anon?

My guess is that you want to know whether what you posted is correct or not.

First of all, the simple fact that it does not contain any capitalization or puctuation makes it incorrect.

Secondly, the wording is odd. I might suggest this instead:

Even though I had actually been looking for something unusual, I ended up with this (very normal) book.

If that doesn't answer your question, then I'm afraid you will have to actually tell us what your question is.
