I just need a little change, "The events happened quickly, leaving naught but people whom, being unable to make sense of what has happened, decide not to care about it."
"Decide not to ~ " sounds better to me than "decide to not ~". I'm not sure if "to not ~" is wrong. Thinking [8-)]

Who will believe in you if you don't believe in yourself?

thanks!
so it's ok to use 'has to'? I'm not too sure as there're events.
and I don't quite get why it's whom rather than who. Just remembering that it should be whom, but the reason escapes me...

...being unable to make sense of what has happened(to them) because of this whom is appropriate.

Let me correct it again Tongue Tied [:S]
"The event happened quickly, leaving naught but people whom, being unable to make sense of what has happened, decide not to care about it."
Or,
"The events happened quickly, leaving naught but people whom, being unable to make sense of what have happened, decide not to care about it."

Sorry, I didnt note it.
