Physical dificulties of a veil impose on a woman ? hmm.......in a high humidity region....ehmm....fungal problems of hair...perhaps. I don't know ! In general, I think veil is more safe than cosmetics. Big Smile [:D]
That is what I have been trying to say.

Sorry, I couldn't resist commenting. I am living in a Muslim country but I dont wear veil. However, no one behaved strange to me or I was irritated by strange looks. Please don't make generalise and don't introduce us wrong. If you want to give any detail please use the name of your own country. By the way, though I sometimes wear mini skirts still they haven't thown stones at me. Big Smile [:D] LOl..

I don't know what you mean. I can't  use the name of my own country to give any detail about the use of  the veil.

In Spain we dress up as we like, and if we want to wear  low waist jeans to show off the string of our thongs we are allowed to do so.

I did not mention which country it was, but I certainly didn't say it was yours. I said "SOME", not "ALL".

I did not "make" generalise and I did not introduce anyone wrong. If you choose to take offence, it 's your privilege.

Seems like I've got a comment to make;

I do live in a Muslim( but secular) country and I do not wear a veil.

The worst  thing that could happen is a greasy eyeball from an old lady,or a beeping car,but this does not bother me at all.

What I am really concerned about is that those girls, who are wearing veils are usually end up cleaning  apartments or cooking in the small family cafes.

None of them  do attend university, or work in the bank, school etc,as  the country's law does not allow one to walk in a govermental building wearing a veil,or even a headscarf.

It seems interesting that in those societies where women have political rights and economic strength, it is their decision how they choose to dress, and that [as a generalisation] strictures on costume for women seem very largely to come from men.

Doll:

Your post was inmediately after mine. You didn't quote or refer to any anonymous poster. Therefore, I assumed you were talking to me. And so did the rest. I was logged in and my name appears clearly.

If you care to know in what country I, and each and every one of my female college mates, were forced to wear a veil, it was Iraq.

A bunch of students of archaeology trying to see the ziggurrat at Ur, and the remaining wonderful arches of Ctesiphon's palace. I wonder if they still exist.

No, nothing.

Just one thing:

I did never, and will never, generalize about a country or a religion. I have spent many a wonderful holiday in your country. And lived with my friend Nuriye, who is both Turkish and Muslim, and her family.

Real people have nothing to do with stupid fundamentalists. Of any country and any religion.
