Ok, so i've forgotten what the rules are with specifically its and its'  !   I know when to use "it's" but that is not what i need in this sentence... Here is the specific sentence i'm having trouble with:

"However, in other circumstances it can be very detrimental to the market involved, such as in situations like the one mentioned above where the cost is higher than its benefit."

what exactly is the rule on when to use the apostraphe at the end and when to leave it off?  Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Smile [:)]

Use "it's" with the apostrophe only for the contractions it is and it has

Think of "its" the same wasy you do "his" or "hers," belonging to, or associated with, it.
