 Hello all!

Are "journey & travel" equivalent in the following context?

"The beach was 100 km away, it wasn't an expensive journey (travel)."

Thank you!

Hi,

Are "journey & travel" equivalent in the following context? No. We don't use the word 'travel' to refer to a specific journey.

"The beach was 100 km away, it wasn't an expensive journey (travel)."

For a short journey, the word 'trip' is very commonly used.
