Hi,
My name is Ali Asghar Zia but mostly known as Aaz. I live in the capital city of Pakistan. I just turned 22 on the 27th of December 2005. On this birthday I made some resolutions, one of which is to have a good vocabulary and the power to express myself on paper. I came across this website when I was planning to write a motiviation letter for college. I never ended up writing the letter, but it did give me plans for later. Below is a little essay I wrote on "Teachers - Young or Old" I picked it up from a debate column that runs different topics from time to time in a local teen mag. Any form of productive criticism is welcome. I really hope to be a part of this community and I would appreciate if you people would give me more topics to write about too! Thanks!
Teaching may be defined as an act of transfering knowledge from one person to another. This form of communication is not new to human beings. It evolves in every era giving a new way of transfering knowledge. There is no doubt that by time, teaching methods have become more and more sophisticated. Especially by the advent of new technology and a wide complexity of data structures in the modern era, teaching is only limited to specialists and experts. It is a non-arguable fact that teaching is an art that comes as a natural to some. Some people show the signs of a teacher at a really early stage, but this notion does not constrain the idea that non-natural teachers do not have the capacity to teach. I base this concept on the very nature of humans. Humans are gregarious creatures. They like to interact in different ways just to geel a part of the crowd. In this very context, every human wants to be noticed in the trend the society harbours. This form of attention is only acheived by the person who practices the best form of culture. Which in todays society would be the amount of knowledge. Hence, it is also proved that teachers can be regarded as one of the most respected members of society. This respect is not an easy task non the less. Being a harbinger of knowledge desires much more than just knowledge itself. It demans the presence of experience. The experience of understanding the best possible route to another persons brain for the transmission of information. Eventhough as I mentioned earlier, this act comes naturally to some, but the probability of learning this art is not ruled out. This actuality is proof of another nature of the humans which allows them to attune themselved. Humans have a great deal of capacity to adapt. This quality helps humans to learn from their mistakes and not to repeat them. Which, in turn, makes humans evolve within themselves, renewing and rebuilding themselves. So, eventhough, some naturally talented people do make good teachers, it is also an art that can be improved upon by the passage of time. It is no wonder that the saying goes "wisdom comes with age".
