Just to make sure, could I say bra bra bra ...?

For the sake of security, could I use ...?

For the sake of safety, could I replace X with Y ....?

Do the above sound natural to you if I want to make sure that I have understand every point being discussed? If not, how would you word it? Thanks.

The first is fine. You are wisdhing to be sure about something.

You would not use "safety" or "security" in the other two unless there was a technical reason for doing so [Health and Safety Regulations; Army orders].

The best word would be "clarity": For the sake of clarity, could I use.../For the sake of clarity, could I replace X with Y...
meaning - I wish to be clear about this.

Thanks, Feebs, for digging out the version that I've been eager to find out.
