Can I say,

(a)    A kangaroo carries its baby / baby in the pouch.

(b)   A kangaroo carries joey/ young with its pouch.

You should use young or joey. Joey is used in the same sense as cub as in lion cub.

And, it carries its young (or joey) in its pouch not with its pouch.
