Hi everyone,
I am reading "The Balanced Scorecard" in HBR.
during the reading, in the sentance which is " One manager described the proliferation of new measures at his company as its "kill another tree program". The balanced scorecard forces managers to focus on the handful of measures that are most critical. " I didn't understand what "Kill another tree program" means.
anyone who knows the meanning, please let me know that.

Thanks in advance.

It means that lots and lots of documents have been produced and printed in large quantities - wood is a major ingredient of the pulp used to make paper.
