What do you call an area of an ocean while has been filled with earth for land expansion? landfill?

No. landfill suggests a place where rubbish is buried.

You mean 'reclaimed land' (google land reclamation)

Hi,

There's also "polder", which is not an English word (it comes from Dutch) but is quite common in academic texts ... probably because a lot of land was reclaimed in the Netherlands.
