what is the structural difference between english and the south pacific

Hi,

Are you asking us to compare English to all the languages of the South Pacific? That seems like a somewhat ambitious question, and perhaps not one that is entirely suited to a forum on English grammar.

I suggest you google for this topic, or consult Wikipedia. The latter has an article that begins with this sentence that I rather like.

The Austronesian languages tend to use reduplication (repetition of all or part of a word, such as wiki-wiki).

Best wishes, Clive

If you're talking about Polynesian or Proto-Polynesian, from which many languages of the South Pacific evolved, the only significant difference I recall is that while English is an SVO language, the Polynesian group features VSO lanuages.

(S = subject; V = verb; O = object)

I would use Google to find out more.
