Hi,

if I'd like to show someone upstairs, so like go with him and show him the way, can I say I lead him upstairs?

Or what can I say?

That's exactly the way I would say it.

Dear Mitriel,

You may say «I showed him the way upstairs».

Kind regards, Smile [:)]

Hi Goldmund,

I'm going to say that 'lead' is preferred in this case where the speaker is going along with him...unless of course the speaker is behind the other person, which could be sometimes the case, I suppose --as in the rear guard.

Also "I showed him upstairs", maybe.

Definitely not "I took her upstairs".
