Read Newspaper regularly... Try to understand each and every word when u read. If you dont understand a particular word, search in your dictionary and learn it. Try to make a sentence with those words.

It is a belief that you have the power to do and to be if you can speak english fluently...so to train that twisted tongue...the following are some suggestions to strenghten english power.

         1.  Read anykind of english reading materials everyday.

         2.  Listen carefully to english movies or speakers. Take note and keep in your mind the words/terms used.  You might use them someday.  It would be better if you have a booklet where you could list down the words.

         3.  Just feel comfortable when using the english language.

         4.  Converse with people who are well-skilled in english.

Hi Big Smile [:D]

In order to speak english fluently, I suggest you to go through some english novels so as to increase the vocabulory and then start implemeting them one after theother, this will help you to you to stop searching for words when speaking. Also, think of any situation and then try to explain it to your self in english. Additionaly, if you start thinking in english, then you will master in that field eventually.

I know that the weakness of learning English as a second language is thinking it in our native language first and then translate it to English. Now, How to speak English without translating it if English is the second language? And I'd like ask if listening to topics that we don't know is usefull. Because I think how can we know what they are saying if we don't know the vocabulary?

This is the very problem I have had but I finally overcome it:

1. Speaking relies heavily on your skills in both listening comprehension and pronunciation - therefore you should listen a lot. Just put headphones on your ears and listen every time there is any 15 minutes to spare. If you commute - the train or bus will be ideal place to do it on a regulal, daily basis. This shouldn't be too diffcult so that you could understand about 80% of what is being said, you should be albe to easily follow the meaning.

2. Try to read aloud a lot. If you have a correspondning  cassetes read aloud alongside the recordings. Finally, after some practice rcord your own "perfornamce" and listen to it critically. On the www siete gutenberg.org. you can find Sherlock Holmes books read aloud by BBC Actors + of course texts to print.

3. Try to make conversations with native speakers or pepole who speak fluently and with good accent.

4. Try to speak alongside with newsreports (this requires that you have huge headphones that perfectly isolate you from the noise - I mean the sound of what you say will prevent you from hearing waht you are to repeat. START from news in YIYR MOTHER TONGUE. Then do the same with slowly spoken cassette recordings in English.
This is so called "shadowing" and students of applied linguistics have to practice it regularly. It is pre-requisite for simultaniuos interpreting.

the only effective way to improve your spoken english is to practice with the RIGHT people and also to have a  "thicker skin"

What does these all means is explained below:

1.

Based on my experience, some people dont have the patience to listen to your converstation becasue they find your "subject" to be either boring or dry, and dont make any sense, although, we know we tried our BEST. This kind of treatment is harsh and humiliating and tthis can be observed under the pretex of "ah-ha", or "yeah" and sometimes just being plain ignorant.

So look out for those who have no interest and appriciation for us who is trying hard to learn english.

2.

Most native english speaker(e.g. Canadian) that I encountered usually hangs out with their own established "niche" and it's pretty difficult for us to medlle in their conversation and start introducing yourself with the not-so-perfect-accent. Do you think they will truly-listen to you like his buddy who sit next to him? not likley. Lets take it from other perspective, lets assume that one day your english-speaking man, the accuaintance of yours with absolutely no knowledge about your country nor people, decided to go live in your country, what are the chances that he will be accepted into your niche???

If you lack nuances of converstation, in joking, gestures, or slangs, chances are they wont listen to you attentively

This is very important:

English-speaking people, nah I think we should just say the westeners adapt to your sense of humor differently, if you think your the popular guy back in your country, man, oh man your WRONG, cuz you may turn out to be the looser in America

this is harsh but its the reality, so have thicker skin

I dont mean to dissuade you from learning english Im just writing to all of you to be aware of the certain situation thats happening out there and thats what I mean by to have thicker skin.
