If some friend lent you some money. What's the verb to use pay back or give back?
I guess it's high time to pay them their money back.
I guess it's high time to give them their money back.

Thanks in advance.

In the case of lending money, you would use pay back, but like this : "I guess it's high time i pay back her moeny."

As you pinpointed that a friend lent you some money, I guess the appropriate verb is " to pay back". In formal situations, we prefer "to repay" (a loan). To "give back" means "to refund" or "to reimburse (a person)", mainly used when you get your money back when an article purchased is unsatisfactory.

Hope this helps!
