explain each means please
e.g : you must be mad if you think i'm going to lend(borrow) you any more money
can i use both words in above sentence?
Hello,
"Lend you money" sounds fine, but we don't say "borrow you money." (It's better to say "You must be mad if you think I'm going to let you borrow any more money.") If I lend (or loan) you something, I LET YOU BORROW that item. (I give the item to you so that you can use it for a while. We both understand that you will return the item to me later.)
If I borrow something from you, it means that you are lending me something (giving me something that you expect me to give back at a later time).
Like buying and selling, borrowing and lending are different aspects of an exchange that people agree to. This can happen on a casual, friendly basis (lending or borrowing a pen from a classmate, for instance). Or it can be much more formal (a business agreement).
